aboutABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bob was raised in Racine, Wisconsin and is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee (B.S. degree and emphasis in Economics). Bob has been married to his wife Joy for over 50 years; they have three sons and daughters-in-law.  They are blessed to have eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Two of the grandchildren and one daughter-in-law are referenced in the book.

Bob’s background includes financial and retirement planning, human resources, sales, and marketing. He has developed marketing and sales literature, wrote a three page ad that appeared in Reader’s Digest and wrote articles for several urologists. He also developed Bible study materials for use in his church where he’s active on the church board.

THE CAVE OF MYSTERY BACKGROUND

Bob and Joy gathered their grandchildren together for an annual Kuzin’s Kamp. The purpose was to enable the cousins who lived in different states to connect with one another. The grandchildren had to be at least five years old to attend. At times, there were six to seven young folks. One of our concerns was, “what do we do if it rains to keep these kids entertained so the house isn’t destroyed?”

Bob started writing a mystery and read a chapter of it to the kids. They loved it and asked “what happens next?” So another chapter was written. The grandchildren grew, Kuzin’s Kamp was replaced with the grandchildren’s own activities of football, horseback riding, wrestling, basketball, and volleyball. So the early stages of the mystery were dormant for a number of years.

Nearing retirement, Bob picked it up again, attended Christian Writer’s Conferences, read a number of books, and continued to develop the plot and characters. The result is, The Cave of Mystery.

  • To provide readers with wholesome material suitable for many age groups.
  • Develop characters that have real feelings and emotions with which the reader can identify.
  • Provide suspense, adventure, mystery, and humor.
  • Perhaps take a reader or two back in time when they were on a summer vacation.
